Viewing and downloading your documents
Open or download the documents your clinic has shared with you, such as treatment plans, consent forms and lab reports.
Overview
The Documents page shows the documents your clinic has chosen to share with you. You can open them or save a copy. You cannot upload documents in the portal. If your clinic asks for a document, such as an ID or an old X-ray, bring it to the clinic or ask the clinic how to send it.
Prerequisites
- You are signed in to the portal.
- Your clinic has shared at least one document with you.
Steps
Open Documents. Click Documents in the menu at the top. The page is called My Documents.
Find the document. Each document shows its name, its category (for example X-Ray, Treatment Plan, Consent Form, Lab Report, Prescription or Insurance), its size and the date it was added. Use Previous and Next if there is more than one page.
Open it. Click View. The document opens in a new browser tab.
Save a copy. Click Download. The file saves to your device.
Expected outcome
- You can read and keep a copy of the documents your clinic has shared with you.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| "No documents" | Your clinic has not shared any documents with you | Ask your clinic. The clinic chooses which documents to share |
| A document you expected is missing | It is in your clinic record but not shared with you | Ask your clinic to share it |
| Nothing happens when you click View | Your browser blocked the new tab | Allow pop-ups for this site, or click Download instead |
| "Failed to download document" or "Failed to open document" | A network problem | Check your connection and try again |
| You need to send a document to the clinic | The portal does not take uploads | Bring it to the clinic, or ask the clinic how to send it |
