Public booking on a clinic's website
Ask for an appointment from your clinic's own website, if the clinic offers online booking there. No portal account is needed.
Overview
Some clinics put a booking form on their own website. This is not part of the patient portal, and you do not need to sign in. You choose a time and send your details. Your booking arrives at the clinic as a request. The clinic then confirms it or declines it.
Not every clinic offers this. If your clinic's website has no booking form, phone or visit the clinic.
Prerequisites
- Your clinic's website has a booking form.
- Your name, email address and phone number.
Steps
Open your clinic's website. Find the booking form.
Choose a time. Pick a free time from the times the form shows. If the form lets you, you can also choose a dentist or a location.
Enter your details. First name, last name, email and phone number are required. You can also give your date of birth and a short reason for the visit.
Send the request. Your request goes to the clinic. It is not a confirmed appointment yet.
Wait for the clinic's answer. The clinic reviews your request. It emails you when it confirms or declines the booking.
Expected outcome
- When the clinic confirms, you get an email and the appointment is booked.
- If you already use the patient portal at this clinic, the confirmed appointment shows on your Appointments page.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| The website has no booking form | The clinic does not offer online booking | Phone or visit the clinic |
| No times are free | The clinic's calendar is full for those days | Try other days, or phone the clinic |
| No email after you sent the request | The clinic has not answered yet, or the email is in spam | Check your spam folder, or phone the clinic |
| The clinic declined your request | The time may not suit the clinic | Read the email, then choose another time or phone the clinic |
