For clinic staff — your first sign-in

Accept your invitation, set up two-factor authentication, and find the docs for your specific role.

Overview

Your clinic owner or admin invited you to MyDentalPractice. This guide walks you through accepting the invite, signing in for the first time, securing your account with two-factor authentication, and finding the documentation specific to your role.

Prerequisites

  • An invitation email from your clinic owner or admin (subject usually starts "You've been invited to...")
  • The email address the invitation was sent to
  • A laptop or desktop browser; a smartphone authenticator app if you plan to enable two-factor authentication

Steps

Open the invitation email. The link inside is one-time-use and expires 7 days after it was sent. If yours has expired, ask the person who invited you to resend; the new link replaces the old one.

Click the "Accept Invitation" button. This opens the acceptance page in your browser. The form pre-fills your email and name; you cannot change the email at this stage.

Set your password. Choose at least 12 characters with a mix of upper-case, lower-case, numbers, and symbols. The strength indicator updates as you type. Re-enter the password in the confirmation field, then click Accept and Continue.

Sign in. You're redirected to https://app.mydentalpractice.ng/login. Enter your email and the password you just set, then click Sign in. If your owner enforced two-factor for everyone, you'll be prompted to enrol on this first sign-in.

Enable two-factor authentication (recommended). Open Settings → Security from the avatar menu, then click Set up authenticator app. Scan the QR code with Google Authenticator, Authy, or 1Password, and enter the 6-digit code shown to confirm. Save the backup codes that appear in a secure place — you'll need one if you lose your phone.

Update your personal profile. From the avatar menu choose My Profile. Add your phone number, profile photo, and any other fields your clinic asks staff to complete. Click Save changes.

Find your role-specific guide. Open the Clinic Guides section of this knowledge base. The sidebar groups articles by feature; the clinic roles reference tells you which features your role can access.

Bookmark the daily-use pages. Most staff use Dashboard, Patients, Appointments, and Queue every day. Bookmark them in your browser, or pin the tabs.

Expected outcome

  • Your account is active and you can sign in repeatedly
  • Two-factor authentication is enabled on your user (verified by the green badge on Settings → Security)
  • Your profile shows your name, phone, and photo
  • You know which sidebar section of these docs is relevant to your role
