For platform admins — accessing the admin console

Accept your platform-admin invitation, sign in to platform.mydentalpractice.ng, and find your role-specific tools.

Overview

Platform administrators manage MyDentalPractice as a SaaS — tenants, subscriptions, payment recovery, support tickets, feature flags. The admin console lives at https://platform.mydentalpractice.ng and is separate from any clinic app. This guide gets you from invitation to a working admin session.

Prerequisites

  • An invitation email from an existing platform Super Admin
  • The email address the invitation was sent to
  • A smartphone authenticator app — two-factor authentication is mandatory for platform admin accounts

Steps

Open the invitation email. Subject usually starts "You've been invited as a Platform Admin...". The link is one-time-use and expires after 7 days.

Click "Accept Invitation". You'll land on the platform invitation acceptance page. Your email and assigned role are pre-filled and cannot be changed.

Set a strong password. At least 14 characters, mixed case, numbers, symbols. Platform admin accounts have stricter requirements than clinic accounts because they affect every tenant on the platform.

Sign in at the platform URL. Go to https://platform.mydentalpractice.ng/login. Use the email and password you just set. Do not sign in via the clinic app — that's a different account namespace.

Enrol in two-factor authentication. You'll be prompted on first sign-in. Scan the QR code with your authenticator app and enter the 6-digit code. Save the backup codes shown — you must download them; they're not displayed again.

Confirm your role and access. Click your avatar in the top-right of the platform dashboard. The popover shows your role (Super Admin, Sales Admin, Support Admin, Finance Admin, or Viewer). Cross-check against the Platform admin roles reference for what your role can and can't do.

Bookmark the dashboard. Pin https://platform.mydentalpractice.ng/dashboard and the sections you'll use most — for Sales that's Tenants and At-Risk; for Support it's Support Tickets; for Finance it's Invoices and Payment Recovery.

Find your role-specific guides. Browse the Platform Admin Guides section. Articles are gated — you must be signed in at platform.mydentalpractice.ng for them to load. The cookie set on platform login is what unlocks the docs.

Expected outcome

  • You can sign in to platform.mydentalpractice.ng and remain authenticated for the standard session length
  • 2FA is enrolled and your backup codes are stored somewhere safe
  • You can see the role-appropriate sidebar entries on the platform dashboard
  • You can read the gated Platform Admin section of these docs without being redirected to login
