Designations and salary structures
Define job titles, salary bands, and standardised salary components.
Overview
Designations are job titles (Junior Dentist, Senior Receptionist) with associated salary bands. Salary structures template the breakdown of base + allowances + deductions per designation.
Prerequisites
- Owner, Admin, or HR Manager role

Steps
Open HR Settings. HR → Settings → Designations.
Click "+ New designation".
Name the designation. "Senior Dentist", "Junior Hygienist", "Receptionist Supervisor".
Set band salary range. Min, mid, max. Used for offer letter guidance and parity reviews.
Pick a salary structure. Existing template, or create new.
Edit salary structure (HR → Payroll → Structures). Components: Base, Transport, Housing, Communication. Calculation: fixed amount or percentage of base. Tax-treatment per component.
Save designation. Now applicable when adding employees.
Apply to employees. When creating or editing an employee, pick the designation; their salary structure auto-fills from the designation default.

- Payroll picks up the components automatically
Troubleshooting
