Treatment history
Review every procedure performed for a patient over time, grouped by tooth, date, or category.
Overview
Treatment history answers "what's been done to this patient so far". It's the dentist's pre-visit prep tool: which teeth have been treated, when, by whom, and to what effect.
Prerequisites
- Any clinical or front-desk role (with access to the patient)
- The patient has at least one completed procedure
Steps
Open the patient profile. Top nav Patients → row.
Switch to the Treatments tab. It shows three sub-views: Active plans, History, By tooth.
View the History sub-view. Reverse-chronological list of every completed procedure, with date, dentist, code, tooth, surface, and price.
Filter the list. Filters: date range, category (preventive / restorative / endodontic / surgical / orthodontic / cosmetic), dentist, tooth.
Switch to By Tooth view. Each tooth gets a tile showing its procedure history. Useful when planning a new procedure on a tooth that's been worked on before.
Click any procedure to see full detail. Modal opens with the visit it was part of, notes, materials, and any complications recorded.
Print the history. Print button. Useful when referring to a specialist who needs the patient's recent care history.
Export the history. Export → CSV or data file. Owner/Admin only because of PII.
Expected outcome
- Every procedure performed is visible with full provenance
- Tooth-specific drill-down works for any individual tooth
- Filters narrow without losing the underlying data set
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Tab is empty | No completed procedures yet | History only shows completed work |
| Tooth not shown despite known work | Procedure recorded without tooth | Open the procedure → set the tooth, save |
| Wrong dentist on a procedure | Wrong dentist selected on the visit | Edit the original procedure if not yet locked |
| Print is small | Browser scaling | Use the print preview's "Fit to page" |
| Export blocked | Role limitation | Owner/Admin only |
