Completing a treatment

Mark a treatment-plan item or single procedure as done.

Overview

Marking an item complete is the action that bills the procedure, updates the patient's chart, and advances the treatment plan. It's done at the end of the visit during which the procedure was performed.

Prerequisites

  • Clinical role
  • An open consultation linking to the treatment plan or procedure
  • The procedure was actually performed today

Steps

Open the consultation form. From the Queue or via Consultations.

Open the Treatments panel. Lists the patient's active treatment plans + items linked to today's appointment.

Find the item performed. Items grouped by plan; today's planned items highlighted.

Click "Complete" on the item. Pre-fills the date, dentist, tooth, and CDT code. You can adjust before confirming.

Add procedure-specific notes. Material, anaesthetic, complications. Free text. Becomes part of the visit notes.

Confirm price. Default from fee schedule or plan. Override if needed.

Save. Item status flips to COMPLETED; plan progress bar advances. Item appears in today's invoice draft.

If the plan is now fully done. Status auto-flips to COMPLETED for the whole plan; a toast confirms; close the plan or move on.

Expected outcome

  • Item status is COMPLETED, and actualPrice
  • The plan's progress percentage updates
  • Today's invoice draft includes the item
  • The dental chart reflects the result (if applicable)
