Customizing dashboard widgets
Add, remove, or rearrange widgets to fit how you work.
Overview
Default widgets fit most roles, but power users want their dashboard tuned. The customisation panel lets you pick which widgets appear, in what order, and what size.
Prerequisites
- Active sign-in
- Layout preferences (it's per-user; doesn't affect colleagues)
Steps
Open the dashboard. Top nav → Dashboard.
Click "Customize" in the top-right. Edit mode — widgets show drag handles and remove buttons.
Remove unwanted widgets. Click the × on any widget to remove. The widget catalog at the side updates so you can re-add later.
Add new widgets. Drag from the catalog to the dashboard. Widgets in the catalog are scoped by role (you only see widgets your role allows).
Reorder by drag-and-drop. Each widget has a drag handle. Drop into the new position; the grid reflows.
Resize widgets. Some widgets have size variants (1x1, 2x1, 2x2). Click a size selector on the widget header to change.
Save the layout. Click Save layout in the top-right. Preferences sync to the server; the same layout follows you across browsers.
Reset to default. Reset to default restores the role-default layout if you've made the dashboard unusable.
Expected outcome
- The dashboard reflects your customised layout on every device you sign in from
- Other users' dashboards aren't affected
- Reset always works as an escape hatch
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| No Customize button | Some legacy roles don't expose it | Mostly a Starter limitation — try on Professional |
| Widget catalog is empty | Your role has access to no additional widgets beyond defaults | Already at max; nothing to add |
| Drag-and-drop unresponsive | Browser blocking | Try in incognito |
| Save fails | Preferences sync glitch | Layout saved locally; sync retries automatically |
| Reset doesn't work | Cache | Hard-refresh, then click Reset again |
